Burgers are the perfect summer food, they might even be the perfect food, period. They can be as simple or as complex as you want. You can add as many toppings as you want or you can be a burger purist and just have a bun and patty. However you like your burger, there's a crucial component that elevates every burger from so-so to incredible. And that's the meat. We love using our ground beef to create delicious burgers all through the summer, especially on different grilling holidays like Memorial Day.
These burgers are a great foundation, but they also have a little special twist - instead of only putting cheese on the top, these ones are stuffed with cheese. Yes, stuffed with cheese. That's just the beginning though, feel free to experiment with some different options to create your favorite burger. Some of you might know this as a Juicy Lucy burger and some of you might just call it a stuffed burger. Whatever you call it, we love them and we hope you will too!
Ingredients:
1.5 lbs. Elevation Beef ground beef
1 Tbsp. onion powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese (or your cheese of choice, go crazy here!)
4 burger buns
Toppings:
Bacon
Tomato
Lettuce
Onion
More cheese
Avocado
Ketchup and Mustard
Preheat grill to medium-high heat and while it's heating up, get your burger patties ready.
Mix together the ground beef, onion powder, salt and pepper and form eight equal portions (about three ounces each if you're trying to be exact.) Pat each portion into a burger shape, keeping in mind that each burger will be double the size when you stuff it.
Add 1/4 cup of shredded cheese to four of the patties and then put another patty on top and pinch the sides close to ensure that no cheese leaks through the burger.
Grill until your desired doneness, keeping in mind that the cheese needs to be heated through to get nice and melty. Let the meat rest for a couple minutes and then add all of your favorite toppings and enjoy.
