In my experience, there's little more incredible on a holiday table than a prime rib roast. Not only is it delicious, but the smell will get your dinner guests excited about the meal as soon as they walk in. Here's a simple recipe that we like to use for the holidays and we hope you and your family will enjoy too.
Ingredients:
1 prime rib roast (also called a standing rib roast; we recommend about 1 lb. per person you're serving)
2 Tbsp. olive oil
5 garlic cloves, minced (add more as you increase the weight of your rib roast)
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. J. Brady Seasoning's Cowboy Shake
Recipe:
Take the olive oil, garlic, salt and Cowboy Shake and mix it into a paste and then rub all over the rib roast. Let the roast sit for an hour at room temperature with the fatty side up.
Preheat the oven to 500 degrees and when it's heated, cook the roast for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes is finished and some of the fat is rendered off, turn the heat down to 325 degrees and cook 12 minutes per pound.
When the roast is cooked to your preferred doneness, take it out of the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes before carving and serving!
